This section is devoted to the work and photos of Jim Powers and Martin Thoene. They both run
river tanks based on a design by Martin, and both are regularly breeding Pseudogastromyzon Cheni and Liniparhomaloptera Disparis, a rare event. In fact (as of December 2001) they are running out of room to house their exploding populations. As Jim and Martin send me photos of the activity (and general shots of their hillstream loaches) I will update this section. |

Note: All photographs in this section remain the property of the photographers and may not be used without their permission.

Hillstreams are beautiful little loaches and a well built river tank is an interesting and
worthwhile project. They don't usually do too well in the tropical community tank environment, but in a cool water, high flow, high oxygen set up they thrive. |

Martin is the author of two excellent articles on hillstream loaches at Loaches on Line.
